Introduction

BarCode Trader is a company specializing in sales and service of mobile
Terminals and bar code equipment. This product is a result of our experience in
the automated data collection industry.

While many companies prefer to develop elaborate systems based around their
proprietary business practices, we found that many companies have similar needs
which we have solved with our easy to use BCT scan system.

The BCT scan system is a software product that runs on a mobile terminal with
built in laser bar code scanner. The user fields are configurable, allowing for
some custom modification of the input, such as firld1 can be "Location" or
"Building" as in asset tracking, or "Store" or "Rack" as in retail inventory.

The same BCT program can serve both needs by allowing the supervisor to
configure the units to prompt for items by name. The supervisor can also
configure the prompts to be alpha, or numeric, or both, as well as fields being
required, or optional (meaning the user can leave them blank). The bar codes to
be scanned can also be turned on or off as well as specific lengths determined.

Finally, the BCT_RECV program allows simple upload via PC serial port into
easy to use .CSV (comma delimited) files that are accepted by many database
programs and applications such as Microsoft Excel.
